This is a neat little walk in Pingtung's Checheng Township is a great little leg stretch if you have a spare hour.

CAPE OF GOOD HOPE (好望角)
This short almost coastal walk in Miaoli's Houlong Township has Instagram-famous views, towering turbines, and a converted railway tunnel to keep you entertained. At just under 3km, it's also a great little way to stretch your legs and/or catch the sunset if you're passing through on a long drive between the north and the south.
YAKOU LOOKOUT TRAIL (埡口觀景台步道)
If you’re heading to Daxueshan National Forest Recreation Area and want to do a walk with views, this short hike to a panoramic lookout platform is undoubtedly the walk for you.
JINMIAN SHAN SUNRISE HIKE (金面山日出)
Mount Jinmian — or more accurately, Scissors Rock —offers one of the best spots from which to catch the sunrise over Taipei and watch the city waking up.
SUNRISE on MOUNT QIXING (七星山日出)
Watching the sun rise on a new day is always a memorable experience, but a sunrise seen from the city's highest summit is doubly so. The changeable weather up on Mount Qixing makes it challenging for sunrise seekers, but if you do manage to beat the odds, and get good weather it feels like you've won the jackpot.
WUHU HILL SUNRISE WALK (五虎山日出)
This peak on Kinmen's northeastern edge is a prime sunrise-viewing spot.

Mount Wufen is a rewarding half day hike in northern Taiwan’s Pingxi District. Ideal for Taipei-based day trippers looking for a scenic walk, this trail will take you up through lush forests to an open grassy ridge with expansive views over the many-layered hills of Pingxi.
QILAI NANHUA TRAIL – DAY 2 (奇萊南華步道)
Qilai South Peak and Nanhua Shan are two of Taiwan's famed '100 Peaks'. If you have no experience of high mountains, these two are a pretty good place to start. This post covers the second day of the two day journey.
