ABOUT

I am a British woman and my partner is Taiwanese. Together (and sometimes alone) she and I have been walking the trails and climbing the mountains of Taiwan since I moved here to be with her in 2016. We have always documented our adventures, and quite early on I decided to write about them on here in case anyone else would find it interesting. It seems that there is indeed quite a large appetite for information about how and where to hike in Taiwan, and so this site has continued to expand over the years.

Taiwan deserves international greater recognition for its wealth of great hiking trails and outdoor activities – whether you’re into high peaks, river tracing, multi-day hikes, cycling, strolls around beautiful forests, scuba diving, rock climbing or pretty much anything else, you will find somewhere to do it in Taiwan. I hope that you find the information on this site useful for planning your Taiwan adventures.

If you enjoy what I write and would like to help pay for the cost of running this site or train tickets to the next trailhead, then feel free to check out the support page.

Disclaimer: The information contained on this site is all based on my personal experience of the trails and places that I’ve visited. I have tried to represent them as accurately as I can, but you will still need to use your judgement regarding the weather and your own physical limitations. Have fun, be safe and look after the environment so that we can all continue to enjoy it.
